It is with great sadness that we report Raymond Scott's 93 year-old widow, Mitzi,is in the final stages of her battle with cancer. Receiving cards and letters means a lot to her — as Deb, Raymond's daughter says, "Mitzi really does live for the mail!"

I am going to send her a route 66 postcard, which i will write a letter on, tonight.
ReplyDeleteRaymond Scott is among my very important creative influences, his work framed the world for me when I was young and continues to be something my wife and I talk about and listen to with great passion and interest.
Obviously he could not have achieved such artistic heights without the influence of his wife, Mitzi, and it would be an honor for me to write her.
Thanks again, Jeff, though we have never met, I must say this is a very cool project and you are the definition of a mensch for posting this.
